What Causes Foul Smelling And Cloudy Urination?

I am a 27 year old female. Lately I ve been having this problem where my urine smells horrible and is cloudy. I had this problem a few years ago and then after taking antibiotics for something else it cleared up. Now it s back. I did have a UTI (with these symptoms & the urge to go) a few months back which I took cipro for. It cleared up but came back. Now every now and then I have that strong smell oder in my breathe. The once in a while breathe smell and cloudy smelly urine are the only symptoms I have. My mom is diabetic, so she has checked my blood sugar and it isn t high (90ish I believe).

Hello,

You have developed UTI again and as you have mentioned that you get recurrent episodes of UTI it is very important to get yourself investigated properly. I would advise that you get an HbA1C test done as it is a more reliable test for diagnosing diabetes mellitus. You should also get an USG abdomen done to rule out any renal stones or obstruction in the urinary tract. Meanwhile you will have to take another antibiotic course preferably Tab Norflox or Tab cefixime. But since these are prescription drugs you have to discuss this with your physician. Drink lots of water and cranberry juice as it will help to alleviate the symptoms. Also take syrup alkasol at least there times in a mixed with water.
