Hi, I had a laparoscopy on the 28th of May, neary two weeks on and the wound on my belly button is quite smelly, could this be infection? Also how long should the stitches take to dissolve, and once they ve dissolved will the knotted bits just come away? Thankyou

Thanks for consulting. I have carefully worked through your case, and I can realize your health worries. Being your physician, I assure you not to worry as I will take care all of your medical concerns.

see to it if the discharge is whitish cloudy and foul smelly. clear yellowish discharge can be sterile serum.

a discharge even after 2 weeks means an infection. it must have healed by now.

kindly consult you surgeon for examining the wound.

clean the wound every day with soap and water and take care the wound is free of dust and dirt.

Hope it helps. If you need further, detailed and quick assistance related to any health issues in future, feel free to 'ask me a question' directly from my profile.

Have a wonderful time ahead.

Best Regards!
