What Causes Foul Smelling Urination And Swelling In The Vagina?
I have been having foul, fishy smelling urine the last few days with a lot of discomfort around my clitorus. I noticed that it is very swollen as well. No pain while urinating and feel the need to go right after I urinate. I am also 16 weeks pregnant and currently on vacation. What can I do to reduce the uncomfortable swelling?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your history and description, the possibility of vaginal infection with B. Vaginosis is more likely.
Fishy smells, swelling in the vagina are classical symptoms of B. Vaginosis infection. So, it is better to consult a gynecologist and get done clinical examination and culture from vaginal secretions.
You will need antibiotics. Avoid moisture and perspiration in private parts and keep proper hygiene. Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
