What Causes Foul Smelling Vaginal Discharge?

Hi ,I m 18. I started my first period when I was in the 6th grade. Once I had my first period I started to have a clear/white discharge with a weird smell everyday. I asked doctors about it and they told me it was normal. Over the years I was put on birth control last year about may. I was very sexual active during the summer of 2015.. And we barley used protection. After my last visit in December to the doctor my blood was drawn to be tested for any STD. It came out negative. But what made me nervous was that last month my vagina became very itchy and I still had the discharge. I then had took a pill for a yeast infection I bought from Walmart. It stopped the itching but the discharge still continues. I have stopped taking my birth control for two months and I was wondering could this have been a side affect ? Or could I really have something other than a regular discharge

Thanks for posting in HCM.
I have read your description and understand your concern.
What problem you are having is a combined infection of yeast and bacteria. Since you have taken medication for yeast infection only, your condition is not completely cured.
Kindly do the following to overcome it.
1. Wash the parts with warm water and mild antiseptic solution like Savlon thrice daily.
2. Use pH balancing solution for vagina like 'v wash' regularly.
3. Apply antifungal medication like Fluconazole as vaginal pessary for 3 days consecutively.
4. Take a course of antibiotic Tablet. Metronidazole.
5. Take Tablet. Levocetrizine once a day to overcome itching.
6. Wear loose fitting undergarments to provide proper ventilation.
7. Avoid sexual activities till the symptoms subside completely.
Maintain good personal hygiene. Gradually, your symptoms should subside and you should get better.
