What Causes Foul Taste In Mouth And Halitosis While Having Hypothyroid?

I am hypothroid, diagnosed last spring. Leading up to this I had a foul tase in the mouth and hallitosis. I have a recurrence of this now and also have ketones in my urine (for the last 2 days at least). I have also noticed palipitations after eating. Is this related to hypothyroidism or something else?

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to HCM. I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

These symptoms are not directly related to hypothyroidism. Please check with your doctor and evaluate. Bad taste may be due to sinus infections or dental infections.
Are you diabetic? Are you or some special diets? Ketones in urine is usually seen in diabetics and in starvation.

Hope I have answered your query. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help
With warm regards,
Dr Ajish TP (MD,DM)
