What Causes Foul Vaginal Odor After An Episiotomy?
Hi umm.. I had my daughter a 5 weeks ago and I had an episiotomy. I had my two week check up and my dr said they were healing properly.. then at around four weeks they were hurting and slight bleeding..now at the fifth week it is not hurting as much but there s a boil at the end.. I am not getting a funny smell or anything but still concerned and i cant see my dr until saturday and its sunday today.. any advice?
This seems most likely because of episiotomywound infection (probably developing abscess). Current recommendations till you meet your doctor on Monday: • Fill tub with 2 to 3 liters of lukewarm water, add 50 mL of antiseptic liquid • Remove your undergarments and sit in that tub for 10 minutes each morning, afternoon, and evening • Keep the part clean, dry • Wear clean, loose, cotton innerwear • Refrain from any sex vaginally • Maintain hydration with plenty of liquids • Your doctor will decide medicine part for final cure
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Purva Patel
