What Causes Foul Vaginal Odour And Discharge Years After A NovaSure Procedure?
I have been reading about foul odor and discharge years after a NovaSure procedure. I have been experiencing bacterial vaginitisis, but the anitbiotics are not working; in fact, the infections are more frequent and the odor is not only fishy but also rancid. Is this a NovaSure issue? If so, what antibiotic is best?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM. I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to bacterial vaginosis and associated yeast infection. A swab test will be helpful to rule out the condition. For such condition I would recommend using combination of antifungal like clotrimazole and antibiotic like clindamycin as vaginal suppository or as oral tablets. Using intimate wash daily will be helpful to normalize vaginal bacterial flora and PH. Avoid soaps and irritants to wash the genital area. You can use saline or warm water instead of this. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
