What Causes Frequent Bowel Movement After An Ileostomy?

I went thru a ileostomy , i am having problems due to frequent bowel movement and with no control as of when. I have been taking imodioum , it works to some extent , but have not been able to set a routine in the bowels movements. My question is If I use metamusil and imodioum ,when to take each ,or could I take both at the same time or which routine I can try to follow?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I suggest you use Imodium three tablets a day. I also recommend using daily probiotics. I suggest to drink liquids and use a plain diet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
