What Causes Frequent Bowel Movements And Gas Formation In A Child?
my 4 weeks old baby has been mix feeding with nan1 and breast feed since last 10 days. Since last 3 or 4 days he is suffering for partial nose blockage due to mucus build up and does poo most of the times immediately or some time after consumption of nan1. He gets 3 to 5 bowel movements a day. He seems gassy sometime.Stool seems bit watery yellowish in color is it all ok with him? Is He having problems because of nan1.
Hi Welcome to Healthcare-Magic Greetings of the day
Every baby is unique and so is their bowel frequency. Its quite common for babies to pass stools after every feeds. Its due to hyperactive gastro-olic reflex. Distension of stomach by feeds, will promote peristaltic activity in colon and causing evacuation of stools.
If there are no signs of dehydration, baby is accepting feeds well, no redness in anal region then there seems to be no cause for concern
Do get back to me for further queries
Take Care
