Hi,I am Raju.A.T (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello, my father is 79 just started going to the bathroom at night, several times. He wanted me to see if I could find out what the problem could be, before he goes to the Dr. He is in good health except for breathing. He has IBS, was diagnosed pre diabetic about 6 months ago but has changed his diet, he liked sweet things. What other information do you need to determine what he can do besides go to the Dr.
It could be an acute gastroenteritis. Should take: - tasectan or pepto bismol for diarrhea - probiotics to stabilize intestinal flora - antacids to stabilize stomach pH - plenty of fluids especially plain water with oral rehydration salts - BRAT diet (banana, rice, apple sauce, toast)
If still no improvement, should consult further with his physician.
Wish fast recovery. Dr.Albana Sejdini
