I ve had many bowel movements per day for the last 5 days....6 in the last 12 hours. I have cramps before the bowel movement. No fever or other symptoms. No new medications or change in diet.. what could be causing it and is there a medication to stop the cramping?
Advice 1. Ciprofloxacin 500 mg every 12 hours orally for 5 days 2. Metronidazole 400 mg every 8 hours orally after meal for 5 days 3. Albendazole 400 mg empty stomach in the morning – one dose only 4. Dicyclomine 20 mg every 8 hours per oral for pain on as needed basis 5. Electral powder – dissolve in 1 liter of water and drink frequently. You can use other over the counter ORS 6. Eat small, frequent meals to allow the stomach to digest foods gradually 7. Drink 4 – 5 liters of water daily to avoid dehydration 8. Investigation – R/E of stool Thanks
