Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello - I have been going to the loo to poop for 4-5 times per day. The poop is normally fine, in sausage form or sometimes small pieces. The color seems to be brown. Is it okay to go to poop 4-5 times per day or is this cause of concern? Also, today I got watery stools with some stomach pain. I think I have got watery stools after a very long time, there is no blood as such. I am just scared that it doesn t turn into something serious.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Going to the loo 4 to 5 times a day is not very usual. However, your stools are well formed in sausage shape or in small pieces. This is not a concern. However, having watery stools is unusual, even if there is no blood. I feel you do have an intestinal infection, either bacterial or a worm infestation. It is best to get your stools checked. Please consult a Gastroenterologist, who can examine you and advise you on the proper management.
I hope I have answered your query. Let me know if you have any further questions. Regards Dr. Ajit Kumar Varma
