What Causes Frequent Diarrhea With Fever In Babies?
my baby (2 yrs old) had diarrohea for 2 days last week and was fine after that. Yesterday night again she had loose motion, i fail to understand why such frequently, she had mild fever also (99F) what shall i do, what medicines and what kind of food should be given to her?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Diarrhea with fever in a baby of 2 years that recurred after a week is most probably due to intestinal infection or viral infection giving stomach flu or bug. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult a Pediatrician. Get stool and blood tests done so that a proper diagnosis is made as to whether there is intestinal infection and if present a course of an antibiotic will take care of it. Also needed is to see the source of water and foods, whether contaminated or not. See what the child is playing with, the dirty hands to be washes and the toys and such things that the baby puts in the mouth to get intestinal infection and diarrhea.
