General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Dizziness in the elderly commonly occurs due to dehydration or imbalance in the electrolyte system (low sodium or potassium level in blood) of the body. Help him stay well hydrated. Give ORS & soups.

Maintain the blood sugar & BP to avoid complications of any kind. Dizziness & spinning may occur due to Vertigo. Get your husband physically examined by an ENT specialist. Sometimes, wax in the ears may cause dizziness, he may need an ear wash under the ENT specialist.

If it is not the wax then it can be due to the inner ear problem, get him examined, let him have an Audiometry test done. His treatment will be done by medications or surgery depending upon the severity of the pathology detected.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
