What Causes Frequent Headache And Poor Appetite In A Teenager?

hello. I have a 14 year old son who gets frequent headaches. He is very small for his age...has always been in the 5% or less for height and weight but recently has fallen to below the 1%. He has a very very small appetite - eats a little and says he is full. He has not entered purberty yet. We would like to understand the cause of his headaches and to make sure there is no underlying cause for them as well as for his growth. We don t know what kind of doctor to go to and our family doctor, unfortunately, has not been helpful. do you have any suggestions? my email is YYYY@YYYY

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,
He needs to see a pediatrician as soon as possible. It sounds like he may have a serious problem in his stomach or a hormonal problem. In order for him to reach puberty and his optimal growth in height you need to get him to a pediatrician as soon as possible.
Regards
