What Causes Frequent Migraines And Speech Delays In A Child?
My child has been having infrequent migraines so the neurologist ordered an MRI. There was an incidental finding. They told me he had Dandy Walker Variant. He said that he is perfectly fine and if he was having issues, we would have known about it a long time ago. My son in now 11 1/2. He plays sports and works very hard in school and has been ok. He is of average intelligence. He has a twin brother who is gifted. I have had him tested for speech but they said that he doesn t need it, but to just make sure he speaks slowly and enunciates his works. They did, however, say that he needed language therapy and help with his reading comprehension. Now I am wondering if this is the cause of his issues. I am thinking of getting a second opinion but it seems like there may be nothing to do. How severe is a variant when he really hasn t shown any major symptoms? Should I be worrying?
