What Causes Frequent Nausea After Taking Strattera?

My granddaughter, age 17 and in generally good health, recently began Strattera. We are on a dose pak that titrates up, and for the last 2 weeks have reached 60mg qd. She has developed frequent nausea. It comes and goes. She is afebrile, has not changed her diet. Could it be the higher dose of Strattera? Thanks, Tracy

Hello!
Strattera or atomoxetine is a drug used in ADHD. Nausea is one of it's more frequent side effects (approximately 25%), together with the dry mouth. Some other frequent side effects are loss of appetite and insomnia, sometimes constipation, dizziness.
In my opinion the nause in this case is a side effect of the drug. May be it would be cautios to meet her doctor and try to lower the dose again and to titrate the dose again more slowly, eventhough 60mg is not a large dose.
I hope i haave been of help
