What Causes Frequent Nose Bleeds While Suffering From Hepatitis-C?
is there a connection w/nose bleeds & hep C- ? Diagnosis of Hep C stage 1 was 7 years ago- and lifestyle not changed --- drinking wine 5 days a week- nose bleeds more frequent and weight loss and loss of weight and appetite- I know this is cliche but am concerned for family member who is not wanting the severe & not so positive treatment results
In patients with chronic hepatitis, the liver is affected chronically. As a result the clotting factors that the liver produces are decreased. This would result in easy bleeding - the nose bleeds. Chronic diseases can also cause weight loss and decreased appetite. I advise the following: - Get blood counts done along with clotting parameters and liver function test - Get the liver imaged - CT scan or at least an ultrasound - Review with your primary physician or a liver specialist
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
