What Causes Frequent Seizures And Blurred Speech After A Stroke?
My 47 year old daughter is having seizures frequently and need to know if there s a need to go to e.r. . Her speech is blurred, she has had a stroke on the left side of her brain about a yr ago. She visited the Neurologist yesterday and he is setting up a battery of tests. Our concern is because her speech seems to get slower at some times more than others.
Since your daughter is having speech problems, you are suggested to get all the Nerve conduction tests done. Get all the imaging tests done as well. Stroke may affect the area (left side of the brain) concerned with speech and cause complications like aphasia, speech and language problem.
Frequent seizures and blurred speech will be treated according to the pathology detected and your clinical condition.
Speech and language therapy will help to rebuild skills and is effective. Chartered Physiotherapists help in the rehabilitation treatment of a stroke victim. Physiotherapy help to improve the movements and regain as much function as possible. Help her take the help of adult speech and physiotherapists.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
