What Causes Frequent Sharp Pain In Left Side Radiating To Back And Chest?

my husband is still experience severe sharp pain that start in left side that wraps around to the back and upto his chest . He stated that the pain is severe and hurts to breath or lay down. He is having a hard time walking and standing and getting up from sitting position, He has had several blot cloths before. He does have green filter in . It has been in for about 7 years.

Thanks for consulting the Physicians at HealthCare Magic. I have worked through your case thoroughly, and I can easily realize your health worries. Being your physician, I reassure you not to worry as things will settle down very soon.
The symptoms don't seem to be related to green filters for blood clots. But I was interested to know the placement site. Was it inferior vena cava??
Anyway, with that limited history my opinion is that its a muscular spasm that's hurting him. Your husband may also have pleurisy (lungs, covering inflammation and fluid accumulation leading to pain of this type).
Please consult a physician for proper work up so that he may be able to diagnose after physically having your husband with him.
For pain use Voltran gel 4times a day at the affected site. Tablet ibuprofen 400mg 3times a day for 5days
