What Causes Frequent Spasms Post Placement Of Biliary Stent?

i just had ercp where the doctor replaced obstructed biliary stent. this happened a week ago..i feel alot of spasm lasting about 1 or 2 sec. is this normal or maybe my body is rejecting the stent for it is foreign body[metal stent was placed].....2nd is it okey to take laxative as in MOM i am afraid it will be dislodged if i bear down..thanks

I really appreciate your concern, the abdomen complaint that you have may not be due to any stent, but this could be due to some colicky pain or may be likely due the procedure that you had gone through, taking laxative without any valid reason may harm the GI system, hope this information may helps you, take care and have a nice day.
