What Causes Frequent Urge To Pass Stools Along With Pink Anal Discharge?
About 2 weeks ago I had a pinkish oily looking discharge from my anus. And now i almost constantly feel like i Have to take a poop But when I go to the bathroom little or nothing comes out. Does this sound like something I should go to the emergency room for or just set up an appointment with my primary physician?
The nature of blood such as fresh blood which would be bright red in colour or dark red colour should be noted. Fresh blood will give bright red colour to the stool and anal fissure, hard impacted stool, hemorrhoids and tumours could be the cause. Adequate hydration, increased fibre in diet can reduce the symptoms.Liquid paraffin syrup can be taken at night to soften stool. In case of infections, blood and mucus can occur in stools. Antibiotics should be administered to treat bacterial infections.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
