What Causes Frequent Urge To Urinate After Taking Flagyl And Doxycycline For Chlamydia?
I tested positive for chlamydia and received two drugs to take every 12 hours after meals...flagyl and doxycycline HCL. It s the final day of my dosage and I am experiencing frequent urges to urinate, frequent urination, burning sensation during urination and vaginal discharge. How do I know if I am being cured? When will these discomforts stop? Will I need to repeat my dosage?
Hello and welcome to HCM, Frequent urge to urinate, frequent urination and burning sensation during urination is suggestive of urinary tract infection (UTI). Urine analysis is required to look for presence of pus and infectious bacteria in the urine. In case infection is detected, a culture and drug sensitivity will be required followed by prescription of antibiotics. This infection is unlikely to b due to Chlamydia. Serological test for Chlamydia is required to confirm that the infection is clear or not. Persistence of vaginal discharge can be due to Chlamydia infection or some new superimposed infection. Thus, I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment, examination of urine & vaginal discharge as well as serological tests for Chlamydia.
