What Causes Frequent Urge To Urinate And Dark Red Colored Urine?
Hi, I am an 18 year old female and this morning I woke up desperately needing to pee and when I did my urine was bright red like blood. I keep getting a feeling of needing to pee but am only able to pee a small amount and its red each time. It is also stinging. I did have a few drinks the night before last and woke up incredibly sick even though I had not drank as much as I have in the past. My lower stomach was really hurting. I do not feel sick today but I don t understand why I am peeing blood.
In infections only a mild bleed is present, called microscopic bleed; but with your urine turning red this should be further investigated. I would recommend a visit to your doctor immediately to get a urine analysis, urine culture and sensitivity examination, ultrasound KUB (kidney, ureter, bladder) to confirm/rule out stones anywhere in the renal tract and an ultrasound of your abdomen and pelvis. In the meantime, please drink plenty of water.
Best wishes
