Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My husband, age 74, has been experiencing a more urgent need to urinate. Today he feels the urgency but is unable to go just a small amount. After dinner he got the shakes and chills..trembling...and also has diarrhea...feeling weak. Concerned if we should go to the hospital emergency room..or wait. His not urinating makes me feel like this is serious. It is 7:30 p.m. he is on no medication.

What Causes Frequent Urge To Urinate?
Hi, Considering his age and based on history, it would be advisable to get him treatment in the hospital promptly. He might be having dehydration as a result of diarrhoea and his urinary symptoms could be due to an enlarged prostate. He needs proper clinical evaluation and treatment accordingly. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care Regards, Dr Ashakiran S, General & Family Physician
