Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Urination After Taking Aspirin?
i drink alot of green tea for about month now. I notice I pee alot at night and during the day every 10 to 20mins. is it natural or I should visit the doctor again.I think the asprin that the doc gave me. it started from the day I started. those pill. Because I had a mini Stroke.
Polyuria(urine>3L/day)/Nocturia (passing of more than one-third of total daily output by night) in your case is due to excessive drinking of green tea.Normally one should not drink more than 3-4 cups a day.
Aspirin taken in a low dose as secondary prevention in stroke won't give rise to polyuria or nocturia.Tea itself contains theophylline which has diuretic effect.
The normal urine output for a healthy adult is approx. 1.5 litres (400 ml-3 L) per day. A normal adult usually passes urine 4 to 6 times in 24 hrs with average intake of food and water.
It is better to avoid green tea and aspirin, because they both reduce the clotting effectiveness of platelets (dual antiplatelet effect).
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Tushar Kanti Biswas
