Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Urination Along With Dry Scaly Skin On The Rectum?
I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy July 14th the second one I had this year for IBS. In less than 2 weeks I discovered this large patch behind my rectum of very dry scaly skin. I also found that I m having uncontrollable urination at times throughout the day, which I have not had before. I ve been using antifungal and cortisone creams, 4 several days, but see little relief. I have read these could be symptoms related to the colonoscopy and the prep. Can you advise? Candid flatter issues resolve on their own?
Noted the history related to Colonoscopy and Endoscopy, development of a large patch behind the anal area with dry scaly skin not responding to local application of anti-fungal and cortisone cream. This seems to be a problem of dermatitis. Hence I would advise you the following in such a situation: Consult a Dermatologist for proper clinical diagnosis, investigations as needed as he can tell us the best possible diagnosis and also gives us better chance cure.
Also send stool for tests for 3 days and get treated if there is any findings. Take multivitamins, mineral and trace elements for good skin healing. Keep the area dry and well ventilated by using loose clothing.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. T. Chandrakant, General Surgeon
