What Causes Frequent Urination Along With Hair Loss And Acne?
Hi, Recently I have been urinating alot (multiple times in a small mount of hours/in the middle of the night), experiencing hair thinning/loss and acne. I am 22 years old. My father has diabetes and it runs on his side of the family. Is there any connection between these things and any way to remedy them.
Hello and welcome to HCM, Frequent urination can be a symptom of diabetes mellitus. Other causes of frequent urination include urinary tract infection and prostatic enlargement of prostate in males. Urinary tract infection is associated with burning urination along with frequent urination. Since, you have a family history of diabetes mellitus, diabetes mellitus has to be ruled out before considering any other possibility. Thus, I suggest you to get fasting blood glucose levels to look for evidence of diabetes. In addition, it is necessary to get a routine urine examination also to look for evidence of infection.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja Puri
