General & Family Physician, Dr. Prakruthi's Response
Hi you can be urinating (weeing!) often because of an UTI. Did your doctor prescribe any antibiotics? Also you didn't mention your age. Did your doctor run any blood tests for your sugar levels? If your sugars are normal then trace protein in urine can be ignored for now. It's most probably only an infection. Drink lots of fluids. You can get a repeat urine routine and microscopy done after three months if you are worried. Going through a break up will not cause these changes so don't worry nor will alcohol. I hope you get well soon. Be strong. :)
