What Causes Frequent Urination And Pain In Lower Abdomen?
Hello, I have frequent low side back pain and frequent urination, waking up several times a night. I am always thirsty. My fiancee jokingly calls me a chugger because of the volume I drink of liquids when I am thirsty. What could be the cause of this?
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
The most probable cause for this problem of increased thirst and frequesnt urination can be Diabetes.
There are two types of Diabetes.
1> The first one is Diabetes mellitus in which the the blood sugars have increased more than normal. The glocose load in the blood and urine draws more fluid out of the kidney so casing increased urination and resultant increased volume and thirst. But in this conditin the appetitie too is very much increased.
2> Diabetes inscipidus- In this the concentrating capacity of the kidney is lost due to lack of a hormone called ADH. Wherein the patient paases volumes of urine thereby causing dehydration and increased thirst. The diagnosis is made by estimation of ADH levels and urine test which shows very low spcific gravity.
So at first i would advise to meed MD so that the investigatins can be done to first decide the cause and mange the treatment accordingly.
Wishing you early and complete recovery.
