What Causes Frequent Urination In An Autistic Child While On Anti Inflammatories?

my 11 yr old grandson is autistic( not severe) he is going through a study conducted through sick kids hospital they are trying anti inflamitories to see if it helps with autism. they seem to think that inflammation is common with autism. He has been on this study for 6 weeks now and they take blood work to see if there are any changes etc, but these past 2 weeks we have notice that he is urinating more frequently and these past 2 days he will go as often as 5-6 times in 1 hour

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As per my clinical experience, the mild autism itself is not associated with urinary frequency. It is most likely a side effect of the trial drug given for the control of inflammation and indirectly assessing the effect over autism disorder.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
