What Causes Frequent Urination In Increased Quantity?

Hi The last year or so I have been noticing my goes from light yellow to clear, then approximately the last five months I started urinating large amounts of severly dilute urine even when I was not drinking much. I was tested for diabetes mellitus and diabetes insipidus which both came back negative although doctor may think I have partial diabetes insipidus but he is not too sure. General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
After going through your description, it seems that the common causes to look for has been evaluated.
The other thing which could have been causing this would be a condition called 'syndrome of inappropriate antidiuretic hormone secretion (SIADH)'. It is characterized by excessive release of antidiuretic hormone from the posterior pituitary gland or another source which leads to increase in blood volume (hypervolemia) and passage of excess urine than normal.
Kindly get the following tests done:
1. Serum electrolytes
2. Plasma and Urine osmolality
3. Serum cortisol levels
4. Computed tomography or magnetic resonance imaging of the head
Kindly consult Physician with the reports for proper evaluation of this condition and appropriate management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
Wish you good health.
