Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Urination On Intake Of Invokana?
I started Invokana about two ago for high blood sugar. I now have to urinate about every two hours. I am up three to four time a night and haven t slept through the night since I started taking it. The lack of sleep is wearing me down. What should I do?
Definitely, increased urine output, is one of the side effect of invokana, still you may be having your blood sugar more raised and this may be a symptom of increased blood sugar. It may also be possible, that the dosage of invoke may not be adequate and may be needed to increase the dose.
It may be required to adjust the dose of invokana, to add some other anti-diabetic with it or replace this with some other salt. In my opinion, you should get your sugar levels checked including fasting, PP as well as HbA1C level and your dosage readjustment should be done under guidance of your doctor.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Satnarain Bansal, General & Family Physician
