What Causes Frequent Urination Post Voiding Cystourethrogram?
Hi, I got a VCUG done last week because I have been having reoccurring kidney infections this past year. The test said that everything was normal in the sense that I do not have reflux causing the kidney infections. However, since then I have been peeing a lot more frequently and I read online that VCUGs can sometimes cause UTIs and I was wondering just how common that is or if I should be worried it s something else/ call my doctor
Yes, it is possible that few patients may develop infections due to catheter induced filling of the urinary bladder. But it is very rare. Increased frequency may be due to: 1. Urinary tract infection 2. Prostatic problems 3. STDs 4. Cystitis Please get it done urine culture and sensitivity then review with reports. Use syrup Citralka two teaspoons thrice a day for five days. If symptoms not improved please consult with your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
