Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Urination, Weight Gain And Pain In The Kidney?
rapid weight gain, 12 - 15 pounds, tenderness in kidney area, both sides. Had frequent urgent urination indicating a UTI, but that was negative. Blood tests revealed that white blood count was high. they said that wasn t really a worry. But with the tenderness, more urgent urination, weight gain and inflated abdomin have concerns. Also, bowel movements are less frequent that would like maybe 2x week.
You might need to have a TSH and FT4 test done to rule out problems with thyroid as it may cause problems with weight changes and also problems with bowel. As for the pain in the kidney area and frequent urination you will need to have an ultrasound and and xray of the abdomen to rule out kidney stones. If you are a female and have vaginal secretions and pain with intercourse as well a gynecologic examination and transvaginal ultrasound is needed as well.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Antoneta Zotaj, General & Family Physician
