What Causes Frequent Urination With History Of Removing Stone From Bladder?

Hi Dr, I am going to have a colonoscopy next week to remove some polyps, and I am terrified by this. My biggest problem is I have to urinate all the time. I have already had tests done on my bladder, and all they found were a few stones in the bladder, which were removed at the time, however I still urinate all the time, up to 4-5 times per night. Is there any relation between the two things? I am 56 year old male, and a smoker. Thanks Mike

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi Mike.

Have you had your prostate checked? Also, check for bladder incontinence. Hiw many litres of water do you drink per day? It should be a maximum of 3 litres, nothing more is required.

Also check on your dietary intake, if you are taking any medications that could be providing a diuretuc effect? Stress and anxiety also can cause an increased urge to urinate.

Best wishes.
