What Causes Frequent Uti In Children

My seven year old was never circumsized and now in less than a year has had 3 urine infections. his doctor is having us see a specialist today and said we should have him circumsized be he thinks maybe thats the cause. i need to know the benefits and risks for doing it or not doing it.
