Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Frequent Vomiting In A Child With Benign Hyper-mobility Syndrome?
my 9 year old son has been vomiting intermitantly for approx 7 months. sometimes up to 12 times a day.he had berium swallow test. nothing showed up. he has benign hypermobility syndrome and suspected pfapa and continual mouth ulcers .any ideas what it could be?
* A normal barium swallow does not rule out every possible cause of chronic vomiting as e.g. gut receptor dysfunction, enzyme deficiencies chemoreceptor trigger zone issues at the brain level and others.
A detailed discussion with treating neuro physician and in-depth evaluation above the said investigation in form of barium is highly recommended to prevent further complications of metabolic path and electrolyte disturbances.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
