Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 14 year old daughter has been vomiting off and on for the past 2 days. What can I give her to help her stop vomiting? We went to her pediatrician yesterday, and she told her just have clear liquids and bland food and that hasn t stayed down either.
Understanding your concern. As per your query your daughter have symptoms of frequent vomiting which seems to be due to electrolyte imbalance in body due to viral infection leading to acute gastroenteritis.
Need not to worry. I would suggest you to start treatment with combination of fluoroquinolones and ornidazole. Avoid hot, sharp and spicy food. You can give banana on daily basis and light food. Drink plenty of fluids to rehydrate yourself. Visit gastroenterologist once and get it examined and start treatment after prescription. You should avoid taking dairy products in excess.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
