What Causes Friction Burn Spot On Knee With Pain And Numbness?
hello and thank you for your time - i have what feels like a rug burn or friction burn to a spot on my left knee. i rub and slightly pull and it feels like pain and a numbness. it does not hinder me while i play sports like hoops. occasionally when i stretch i feel a pull, but in some positions of stretching. it has been with me a month. several years ago this also occurred and it went away for a while. the numbness when i touch it with say a pencil or other instrument...any reply ?
I think you may need a x-ray to check knee conditions. I think there can be osteophytes or bone prominence caused near articulations. There is no special cure for it. Take anti-inflammatory drugs such Advil or naproxen for pain. Have rest as much as possible and keep limb elevated.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka, General & Family Physician
