What Causes Gagging And Vomiting While Eating?

I have been on a weight loss program for the last 4 weeks and I am not really struggling with random gagging and dry heaves, especially around meal time. I have never experienced this before. Any ideas on what would cause this? It s making it it very difficult to get down what little food I am able to eat on the program.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Nausea or vomiting while eating may be due to food allergy, stomach virus, food poisoning, etc. But since you are on diet, it can be acid reflux, IBS, stress and anxiety. Take antacids and PPI's for relieve. Stay active and well hydrated. Stay away from anxiety. Weight loss is not a big deal. Control portions of what you eat, take vegetable, fruits, whole grains, low fat dairy products. Take lean meat, poultry, fish, beans, eggs and nuts. Cut on sodium, sugar, trans fat. Exercise regularly. Avoid addictions if any.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
