What Causes Ganglion Cysts On The Palms After A Dog Bite?
I was attacked by a dog and my middle finger was injured the most. The teeth crushed down on the knuckle and ripped down to the pip joint. I developed ganglion cysts in my palm and later one on my wrist. Know my thumb is hurting and the base, and I have permanent partial disability of my right hand from this injury. Could the ganglions be caused from the damage done to my knuckle and finer joint. I can not believe it was all scar tissue and my knuckle is defomed now.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Deep bite can cause injury to tendon sheath and subsequent development of a cystic swelling. Consult an orthopedic specialist and get evaluated. You have to take an MRI scan to know the extent of the injury and about the size and location of the cyst.
Wishing you good health.
Thanks.
