Hi there!
Having
abdominal pain following a
Gall bladder surgery is very common. Irritable Bowel makes it more so but it could be the post-
cholecystectomy state that's making you feel so.
The reason why it happens - your gall bladder is a reservoir of concentrated bile which is released everytime you have a meal. its necessary especially to digest the fat in the food. after surgery the bile coming in is not that efficient in taking care of the fat digestion. Undigested fat leads to whats commonly known as gas formation and loose stools. The gas causes a
bloating like discomfort which is perceived as pain.
You're more likely to have it if your meal has had more fat in it.
So the best remedy to that would be cut down the fat content in your diet.Eat plenty of freash vegetables instead and go for leaner meat.
If it still persists, possibly due to the
Irritable Bowel Syndrome, you might benefit with
Mebeverine or Dyclomine or Otilinium 30 min before your major meals which will reduce the abnormal bloating sensation due to Irritable Bowel.
Also some exercise will help regularise the bowel movements.
With irritable bowel syndrome, you'll find relief with passing stools so dont shy away from a bathroom even at work. It really helps keep you comfortable.
Hoping this helps.
