Hello there, I understand that you are troubled by this gastric problem. To answer your question, yes it is true that back pain can be caused by gastric or duodenal ulcers (part of small intestine after the stomach). For this you need to visit a gastroenterologist who can pass a tube through your food pipe and examine the stomach and duodenum to find if there is any problem. Have you been taking any antacids or acidity medicines? If not then probably you need to start. They may take a biopsy from the stomach to see if there is any infection (H pylori) which can be the cause of your acidity for which you may need antibiotics. So please visit a gastroenterologist who can guide you through the treatment. Hope this helps. Take care.
