Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
After an upper endoscopy I have been diagnosed with a tortuous esophagus, hiatal hernia, gastritis due to food residue in the stomach. I am scheduled for a 24 hour ph manometry study on 12-5-16 and hiatal hernia surgery on the 16th. Can you please explain what all this is (I was still a bit loopy after the endoscopy). Thank you!
hello dear, i understand your concern, u had hiatal hernia means your stomach is slided from abdomen into thorax. as a result acid produced is pushed back into your esophagus which is monitered by 24 hrs ph monitoring.
now doctor is trying to reposition your stomach into abdomen.
so that symptoms subside. thank you.
