What Causes Gastrointestinal Discomfort During Pregnancy?

HI! I am 22 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing a few cramps a day that feel more like gastrointestinal upset then actual cramps. It does happen around times I have gas or need to have a bowel movement. This has been going on for a few days now. In addition, I have felt an on and off pressure in the lower pelvis, like the baby moved down low or something. Could it be Braxton hicks or early signs or pre-term labor?

Hi
Welcome to the health care magic and Thanks for asking your query here

As your uterus grow it cause pressure on your stomach which leads to gastric reflux , stomach ipset and indigestion specially in third trimester
As you are almost there into third trimester you will commonly face this issue now
For this you should not take large meal and should eat small multiple meals in a day also don't sleep atleast 3 hours after meal and don't eat anything which seems to trigger the problem

As your pregnancy will progress you will feel more pressure on pelvis and lower abdomen
That's normal and even if it is Braxton Hicks contractions it is normal , whenever you feel pain try to change your position or walk a bit and do rest
If intensity of cramps increases over time and does not subside than plz contact your ob gyne

I hope it help
Thanks again for the question
