Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I just received a phone call today stating I have gonorrhea. I have been with my husband for 16 years. for the last few months my discharge changed and I started getting pains in my pelvis area and they even did a sono because I thought is was something else. In jan my husband told me he wasn t happy and that he was going to move out, but we still continued to sleep with each other. I just slept with someone else recently but had these symptoms prior to sleeping with this other person, now I don t know where I got it.
Gonorrhea is a sexually transmitted disease (STD) that can infect both men and women. Based on the history your beloved husband seems to be responsible for the sexual transmission of the disease. Remember all the sexual partners should be thoroughly evaluated and should receive the treatment once it is confirmed.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
