What Causes Gout Attacks Along With Blood In Urine?

Started having gout attacks then noticed a little blood in urine. Went to urologist had urine test and ct scan which were both fine. Now I received a call from the dr s office saying the lab shows an abnormality in my urine test and the dr wants to see me to review my results. Hoping it s not bad news but why would he want to see me if it s not?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello dear,
Gout is an ancient disease associated with deposits of uric acid, especially in the joints and kidneys.
Gout can be extremely painful and incapacitating, but is extremely treatable in almost all patients. It is most common in the big toe, and is also common in the mid-foot, ankle, and knee.
Normally there is no blood in urine.
In following condition blood will be present in urine.
Any pathology or infection in urinary bladder/kidney/urinary tract infection, it may be due to prolonged stimulation and friction, drug induced (Hemolysis).
So do not get panic
Just consultant with doctor, it is treatable.
Please take care.
Stay healthy.
