What Causes Gradual Increase In White Blood Cells?
Hi, I am very frightened. My WBC has been slightly elevated for 6 years, going from 11 to 16. I have asthma, allergies, and had a steroid shot 6 weeks ago for asthma. My WBC is 16.49 and my Hematocrit is 36.5. What is going on? I have constant post nasal drip and a dry cough. Could any of those cause my WBC to rise?
Hi.... Any infection in the body will raise the WBC count... as you have mentioned that you have asthma and cough, it could be due to respiratory infection that leads to increase in WBC count...
