What Causes Gradual Reduction Of WBC Count In A Child?

My granddaughter is 4 yrs old. During a well check they found that her white blood cell count was 34. They were confused as to why she was up playing and not in bed with fever. They ran all sorts of tests on her and cannot find anything wrong with her. The count did go down to 18. She will be seen again today. They are talking about sending her to Vanderbilt for more extensive testing. I am fearing the worst. Can you put my nerves at ease???

I really appreciate your concern, if this is so then it is could be something wrong in testing and it need to be seen first, it is the worse condition and nothing could be worse than this it is surprising that child is still survived, hope this information helps.
